Residential Program

CEDC's 22-bed residential program provides females suffering from eating disorders with 24 hour on-site support in addition to various effective therapies including nutritional, psychological, and psychiatric care matching the personal needs of each resident. The residential program may serve as an alternative to hospitalization for some patients.

CEDC's Residential Program serves adolescent girls and women who are 16 years and older. We treat individuals who struggle with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder who are medically stable, but require intensive treatment, 24-hour supervision, structure, and therapeutic support in order to overcome their debilitating eating disorder.

We offer a variety of therapies to help residents overcome their eating disorder in our non-institutional, safe, structured, and supportive environment. The intense programming provides an alternative to hospitalization for some patients who are medically stable but are unable to adequately maintain themselves in a less structured setting. Each resident's individual treatment plan includes individual family, group and nutritional treatment designed to normalize eating patterns, restore weight to a safe range, and develop new coping mechanisms to replace the eating disorder symptoms.

Nutritional, individual, family, group, and psychopharmacological treatments are used to help each resident develop new coping mechanisms, restore normal eating patterns, and gain understanding about the function of their eating disorder. The group therapies include psycho-education, bibliotherapy, Cognitive-behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), interpersonal, expressive and experiential therapies and focus on topics such as Self-esteem, body-image, interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, nutrition, leisure and recreational activities, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, stress management, relapse prevention, discharge and aftercare planning.

A multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in treatment of eating disorders work together to provide the highest quality of care to women struggling with eating disorders. This team includes psychiatrist, registered dieticians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, behavioral counselors, and other clinicians.
